No, not in this instance because you are calling me crazy over something I didn't say. I even gave you an out when I said that if money wasn't involved, I would agree with you.

But no, that wasn't good enough for you. So, hell no. We will not agree to disagree because you are dead wrong. You pegged me for saying something I did not say.

        Re: Where Will Pujols Go

        UP !

I don't create a topic so I'll use this one.
And I'm wondering where Pujols will go. (because I have a theory)

A lot of people are talking that the Cards and the Cubs are the favourites to sign him. Clubs as Nats, Orioles, Blue Jays are also involved.

But nobody think he could end up with another team even the Red Sox or the Yankees ???
I'm not a Yankee or Red Sox fan but I think each of these clubs could land Albert.

For instance the RedSox will let JD Drew go and his 14 M $ salary and also Ortiz and his 12.5 M$ salary. That saves 26.5 M$, enough to pay Pujols.

I know the Redsox will have needs to address such as SP depth and maybe find a DH. They will have to deal with arbitration cases too.
But it does not seem so impossible to me.

Then you have to wonder where Pujols play. Maybe he could play 3rd (he has already played this position, maybe not so well but) or I think he could play as a RF.

And if you think the RF @ Fenway is too big, put Crawford in RF and Pujols in LF.

Tell me if that makes sense or not ?

          Re: Where Will Pujols Go

No, because you would have to pay Pujols not just 26 something this year, but for the next 10 years.

With Crawford, Gonzalez, and Pujols, Boston would have 75 million tied up into 3 players for the next decade almost. Not even they would let this happen. Add in a new deal for Ellsbury, Lester, Bucholz, etc. and they will have over 120 million each season tied into 5-6 players. Not even they would do that.

Plus, I dont see Pujols wanting to play the outfield. No team would sign him to play the outifled, that would probably take a few years off his legs. He'll be at first base somewhere.

Honestly if he leaves St Louis he's a fool. One of, if not the best baseball cities in the league and they adore him. I think they pay him and he stays

The Albuquerque Isotopes of course! Their names share the first 3 letters.

Or the Giants. Can the Braves afford him? Of course I'm assuming he wants to win.

From a baseball fan perspective, I'd like to see him go to Chicago and help revitilize the cubs.

Where's Fielder gonna go? You got two top free agent guys at 1st base. Prince will probably be good fallback option for teams.

Who needs a 1st basemen/DH and has money to blow?

I would laugh my head off if he were to go to the Cubs.

I just hope he doesn't end up going to the Yankees. You know they'll make a pitch even though they have 1B already sewn up.

                          Me too.

Which is why I think the more interesting question is: where will Fielder go?

                            Re: Where Will Pujols Go

Albert is not going to go anywhere where he will have to be the DH and that is what he would have to do in Boston or New York.
The Sox could keep David Ortiz for another year or two and spend the money it would cost pay Pujols on other needs. The Yankees may have to seroiusley consider moving Alex Rodriguez to DH if his physical issues continue which would put them in the market for a 3B (even though Pujols can play there, no one is going to pay him the kind of money he will be seeking and then ask him to change positions which could result in injury or lack of production).
The Dodgers have no money so they are probably out. The Mets are in the same boat.
The Cubs are naturally going to be mentioned. The Orioles are starting to be mentioned for Fielder. I say don't sleep on the Rangers for either player. They have money and the ball jumps in the Texas heat.

Ultimately though i think Pujols stays in St.Louis.

Atlanta? You have a rookie 1st basemen hitting .300, why do you pay 200+ million for Pujols?
