    Ichiro. Hall of Famer?

Sorry if this has been discussed before but do u think if his career ends today would he be considered a hall of famer?

last season I remember listening to a local seattle sports radio station and they had a guess on i forgot who but he was a national MLB analys for ESPN or Fox I forgot which but he feels Ichiro needs to keep this up a few more seasons to even be mentioned as a HOF'er.

IMO I think he already earned a spot. You can call me a homer. what do you guys think?

I'd put him in because his entire career- including that overseas- has been incredible.

Should he? Probably. Will he? Yes, pretty easily. First or second ballot.

He'd have my vote, but I imagine he'd have a little difficulty with all of the traditional curmudgeons that are still out there.

Absolutely, but of course I'm a homer. He's been a hit machine for over a decade with no signs of slowing down, incredible defensively, and helped transcend baseball overseas.

Ichiro is a sure-fire HOF'er. Lock this bad boy up.

I think his stats are telling and deserving of a hall of fame spot in themselves, but his influence in baseball in Asia is transcendent in the same way Yao Ming is in the NBA. Both of them will make it into the hall if not for stats, then just for impact alone.

If Ichiro was American and started his lustrous career exactly where he did in the MLB, he would have everybody's vote for sure. I say that there is substantive reasoning to put him in the HOF, he's just been that kind of consistent player for the past ten years.

I honestly don't see how he couldn't be a Hall of Famer. The guy is one of the best hitters of this generation, and probably one of the best all-time.

even if you only counted his MLB time he would be. But its the BASEBALL HOF not the MLB hall of fame so all of his play in Japan counts too.

The 9 gold gloves would probably get him alone. But you add all those other things he is a shoe in to me. Plus he is probably the best Japan player to come to the majors. Just look at his numbers.

Just on his MLB numbers alone he's a HOFer in my book. I think that the BBWAA would look at his career in the perspective of when he started it in the US and find him to be a first ballot guy.
