Exactly, the Yankees have been a playoff team ever since 95, and won 4 championships since then. I think they know what their doing.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

I'm not getting at that.
All I'm saying is, I think it's highly risky to mortgage your future on guys who don't know if they can handle the pressure playing in front of hostile NY crowds.
New York is scared to death because Boston has loaded up with left-handed arms for their bullpen. With the Red Sox's offense, there is very good reason for the Yankees to be afraid.
I still believe Boston wins the AL East. Just too much power in that lineup and now a potent bullpen.Comment

Yea but it's also highly risky to just sit back and hope your prospects develop. I like Claussen from what I've seen of him, but you never know how he will turn out, especially when the a lot of pitching prosects from the Yankees have turned into busts.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

I think it's very funny that NYY basically depletes their farm system for veterans who aren't proven successes in NY.
I mean, Boone will be a FA after this season. They give up their #1 pitching prospect for a guy who will be a FA after this season?
Just not smart, IMO. Look at Oakland and the success they are because of their farm system. You would think other teams would take lessons from the A's.

I'm pretty sure Boone is not a free agent after the season. I am not 100% positive, but I think that would have been mentioned throughout this trade talk.Comment
