Sounds like Hawk Harrelson went on one of his rants after Buerhle was ejected today.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

Hawk Harrelson could jump into a pool with a live wire inside and I wouldn't care. The guy is an embarrassment to the profession.

Anywho, I'm at a point where i'm waiting for the shoe to drop on the Jays. They lead in all the power categories but they're one of the worst hitting teams per average and OBP yet they keep winning. (for the most part) It's just not sustainable.

His first year seemed to be one of friction. Some of the younger guys had great reverence for him and if they produced they were good to go. Some players however got in his dog house. (Lyle Overbay in particular though this year Cito has gone all "let and let live" with him) All of Cito's weaknesses are still readily there. He doesn't believe in making substitutions and he trots out the same lineup day in and day out even when guys are struggling at the plate.

That being said Cito's hitting philosophy has given some guys new life. He's ALWAYS been a great hitting coach. He helped to groom Shawn Green and was around for a season as Delgado's hitting coach (as well as spring training help too) So that's the positive to him. Guys like Fred Lewis, John Buck and Jose Bautista are THRIVING because of the approach of waiting for the one pitch that you believe you can get a handle on.

As far as handling the pitching staff? Cito has never been great at bullpen management. He is intensely loyal to guys who perform well but if they slip up too much they're persona non grata. The situation the last couple years has been unique in that a lot of the pitchers have never pitched so many innings in their career so there's a 110 pitch count however as we saw with Halladay and in the past when he's had veteran starters he would let them determine when they want to come out most of the time.

In essence, Cito Part Deux is akin to Bobby Mattick's tenure in the early '80s when there was a young team with a great nucleus under a wise and older baseball man who's been through it all to guide them.

Cito has a terrible inability to make use of a bench.

                        After last night's Jimenez performance

Since the expansion era began in 1961, the only other pitcher to win nine of his first 10 starts with an ERA under 1.00 was Hall of Famer Juan Marichal (0.59 in 1966), according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Think about that a minute. Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens, Greg Maddux and Bob Gibson never pulled this off.
His only loss this season was vs Dodgers, 2 hits and 1 earned run over 7 innings.

Monday's matchup was what I was hoping for here in Colorado with a Lincecum vs Jimenez. I need to start counting his starts so I know what days Jimenez will be pitching at Coors

What a tough loss for Ely...dude gives up 1 run and loses to Lilly 1-0. Great game to watch.

What is wrong with Dan Haren. He has been getting his brains beat in the last few times out. Maybe he needs to get rid of the cutter?

Missed the live game but Tulowitzki's 2-run homerun in the first was off a cutter that stayed up in the zone,
