You realize Franklin had an ERA of 2.16 coming in and a 1.92 ERA last year right? It's just one game, he is nowhere near the worst pitcher in the major leagues.

I swear baseball fans have to be the most over reactive fans in sports. Reminds me of the Tiger fans who were acting like Valverde was a bum after he blew his first save of the year against KC.

True but Franklin has been shaky all year this year. He always makes it interesting. He seems to always have atleast one guy on the bases at all times.

If he gets the save, that is all that matters. Doesn't have to be pretty.

But the more you do that you're gonna get pounded. The pitch Smith hit to walk-off was an 84 MPH change-up that had nothing on it right DOWN the middle. It was nothing more than a BP fastball.

Yeah, but like TeixeiraFanatic said, he's been shaky all year long. He just doesn't look like the Franklin of last year.

I may be overreacting right now, but that was just brutal to watch. Our bullpen is obviously our weakness. It has been all year.

He had to get 2 outs with a 5 run lead. Is that too much to ask from the guy who is supposed to close out your games?

I mean I can understand if it was just that three run homer to win it but 6 runs. He gave up two three run home-runs in one inning! How can you not get two outs? I don't think it was a comeback as it was a meltdown. That's not even a great word for it. There's no excuse for that.

Obviously I don't watch the Cardinals on a regular basis, but looking at the stats of their relievers they look pretty good to me. 5 guys with ERA's in the 2's.

Looking at the stats the offense looks a bigger weakness than the bullpen. Only 10th in the NL in runs scored.

Oh, no doubt the offense has been a bigger disappointment than the bullpen. But I guarantee you the bullpen will hurt the Cardinals more than the offense down the stretch.

The reason our bullpen hasn't been much of a factor so far is our superb starting pitching. We have 3 guys that are all but guaranteed to go at least 6-7 innings every time they get the ball.

99.9% chance it will surface on youtube today or tomorrow from a broadcast camera. There are to many TV cameras for one of them to not have been following the ball all the way to the bleachers as that's what they are supposed to do.

I wouldn't doubt it. But the way the MLB is with videos on youtube, I believe it would be taken down rather quickly.

That pic is straight from the Indians video feed - I just saw the same shot on MLB.TV. Scary stuff.

I did hear their announcers say that they did have a camera that caught it, but they weren't going to show it....so yeah, that'll probably end up on the internet soon.
