ESPN reporting Jake Peavy's injury could be career ending. He has a detached lat/back muscle.

They said the same thing about Zumaya, but reportedly he should be ready for spring training.

Peavy has always been an injury risk given the way he pitches, but I'd hate it if that's true.

In retrospect, with his contract and that risk, I guess the devil's on KT's side this time on the trade.

Game time! I thought it was gonna get canceled, surprised me.

Where is this from? I can't find a single thing about it.

They even had an analyst say season ending.

                Did you maybe mishear?

The video showing the pitch where he injured himself shows you it was on the throwing side of his back. Not good.

It was on Baseball Tonight. They brought out Stephania Bell w/ one of those classroom skeletons, and she explained the location of the injury and the seriousness of it. Peavy has already scheduled a meeting w/ Dr. James Andrews, and another specialist (back).

That video is in the link I provided.

She claims season ending. It's serious, but I don't think it's career ending.

Good job La Russa haha. Put some poor bastard out there to make his MLB debut at 7-7 in the bottom of the 9th...3-2 count...walkoff home run...not the place to put someone out there in their first ever game. But hey, Reds are 3 games up now, I'm happy, just baffled.

He never gets any recognition. I believe had a monster season in '04 and didn't get an all-star nod...wound up with over 40+ HRs.

The Zipper comes back to town and pitches pretty well against the Twinkies. That however, pales in comparison to the highlight of the night which was Bautista's inside the parker. You know, if Bautista is traded i'll be sad to see him go. Sure he doesn't have the average but the man has surprising power and is quite versatile in the field. I kinda hope he sticks around in the medium term.

Sell high, SPTO. Think of the prospects you might get in return for a hot bat.
