Red Sox trading Casey Fossum Brandon Lyon Jorge De La Rosa and Michael Goss to the Diamondbacks for Curt Schilling. Who knows if the Sox break the curse in '04 without chilling and the bloody sock.

    Worst:
Twins trading Johan Santana to the Mets for Phillip Humber Kevin Mulvey Deolis Guerra and Carlos Gomez. Only Guerra remains in the Twins orginization while the other 3 were basically duds. The saving grace for the Twins here is they have more postseason appearences without Santana than the Mets do with him.

A's trading Andre Either to the Dodgers for Milton Bradley. Trading any prospects for Milton Bradley will probably get ypu on a "worst" list

I'm sure there are more but that is all i can think of at the moment.
This. Of course I would've loved to have kept Ramirez. But hey, everything worked out in the long run.

      A few One Sided deals:

July 19, 2000: Texas Rangers trade Esteban Loaiza to the Toronto Blue Jays for Darwin Cubillan and Michael Young.

July 26, 2000: Philadelphia Phillies trade Curt Schilling to the Arizona Diamondbacks for Omar Daal, Nelson Figueroa, Travis Lee and Vicente
      Padilla.

July 30, 2001: Pittsburgh Pirates trade Jason Schmidt and Jon VanderWal to the San Francisco Giants for Armando Rios and Ryan Vogelsong.

November 14, 2003: San Francisco Giants trade Joe Nathan, Francisco Liriano and Boof Bonser to the Minnesota Twins for A.J. Pierzynski.

July 30, 2004: The New York Mets trade Scott Kazmir and Joselo Diaz to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for Victor Zambrano and Bartolome Fortunato.
I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....

Best: 2001 Jason Schmidt/Vander Wal for Vogelsong and Rios.
Schmidt would re-sign a year later and the Giants reach the world series.

Worst: 2003 AJ Pierzynski for Joe Nathan Boof Bonser and Francisco Liriano
Pierzynski becomes a 1 and done for the Giants and everyone probably hates him. Joe Nathan becomes one of the premier closers in the game. Liriano has established himself as a legit top of the rotation starter despite some injury history here and there.

Re: Worst and Best Trade Moves of the 2000's

Jays never had that much bad trades in the 2000s mostly cause they barely even made trades. They've just let guys go(like carpenter, escobar, burnett, delgado,).

A real bad one was trading Orlando Hudson in a deal for Troy Glaus.

Hudson ended up hitting over .283 every season since and Glaus just had 1 good season then was shipped off for Rolen who didn't do much either who's shipped off for Encarnation who's not doing much as well.

Jays could have had a great SS-2B combo with ODog and Hill.

Was only about a month before 2000 but trading Shawn Green was real bad. He ended up having 2 40+ HR seasons and 5 80+ RBI seasons after leaving.

Worst: Mariners trade, Adam Jones, Chris Tillman, Kam Mikaleo, plus 2 more prospects for Erik "my arm has a boo-boo" Bedard

Worst: Every other trade that Bill Bavasi made.

Best: Mariners trade JJ Putz for Franklin Gutierrez, Jason Vargas, Mike Carp, plus a couple aditional prospects.

Edit: Brandon Morrow to the Blue Jays for Brandon League, and J. Chavez.
