Shulman's an excellent college basketball announcer, never really heard his MLB work that much..

Shulman's even better at baseball then he is with college basketball if you ask me. Shulman has the capability of painting the scene and giving the lowdown on the situation. He might be just a tad on the bland side when it comes to actually describing the action but he works VERY well with his broadcast partners especially in a 2 man booth (which this won't be unfortunately) as he sets up the analyst with some good questions/discussion points that lead to some rather intriguing conversation.

He was great back in the day here in Toronto when he worked with Buck Martinez. In fact, they were pretty much regarded as the best PBP team among those working for individual teams at the time.

I know you think people generally rag on any announcers, but Joe Morgan was in a whole other universe. John Miller wasn't bad at all, it's just too bad that he had that douchenozzle bringing him down all the time.

I actually don't mind the new team.

That pretty much covers it for me.

I'm not thrilled about Bobby V, he manages to annoy me at times, but almost anyone is better than Joe Morgan.

What was so wrong with Morgan? I hate listening to John on the radio when he did Giants games, because he would go off on the some story and forget about the game. Like he would say some story and after five minutes later, "oh yeah Giants just hit a HR A COUPLE batters ago it is now 2-1." Stuff like that drove me crazy.

That's his radio personality, it's supposed to keep you intrigued. Though I prefer hearing Dave Fleming to PBP and Jon throw in some color commentary along the way. That's my favorite radio duo.

What's so wrong with Morgan? Aside from him stating incorrect facts time to time, he has a tendency of rehashing a statement over and over just to prove that he got something right.

"Well he got a fastball there that was dead red which he was able to sit on, and he is well known to hit the ball the other way as he showed right there. Watch here on K-Zone. See? Dead red. And as I just said, he'll be going opposite field all day. I talked to him earlier today and he said that he would be looking for a good pitch to hit. That fastball there... at 93 miles per hour so you know that it was a fastball as I said earlier... was a perfect spot for him to be able to show what opposite field power he has. See this replay as the ball goes more than a few rows up in right field. That's some good power the other way, as he tends to do."

It just gets annoying.

Jon Miller needs to focus on the San Fran broadcast anyway.




Still though, it was always refreshing to put ESPN on during a Sunday night in the Summer and hear those 2.

I saw Joe at a sports bar. All I heard was his voice, so I thought he was on TV and when I look up he was sitting infront of me. He was talking about the A's game he was going to do. Seem like a good guy. I can't stand (five shower aday guy) Orel Hershiser. mostly for other reasons.

Late to the party guys, sorry.

Sad to see Miller go, Morgan didn't really offend me, but I can see why people disliked him. Bottom line to me is these guys have been calling games on ESPN since I can remember. I knew when Orel joined the crew it wasn't going to be long for one of them, but I don't think it was necessary to change both guys. Put me down in the sad to see a change column.
