Honestly, they are more likely to trade Hernandez than Ichiro.
Hernandez sells tickets every 5 days while Ichiro still sells tickets everynight.

Cashman recently responded to a question about the Yankees maybe trying to acquire Hernandez and simply said "That ain't happening".

M's want an impact bat for David Aardsma, I can't imagine what they're asking for Felix.

Well, I mean compared to what they're trotting out there right now, there's plenty of players that would be considered an impact bat.

As far as all this speculation is considered, I couldn't help but chuckle at the thought that Cano would be "untouchable" in a trade, or that the Mariners would even want him. There's like absolutely no sense there on the Mariners end of things to trade a talent like Felix for major league players with big *** contracts. If they were to trade him, they clearly would not be attempting to win anything now, and as such, trading for a 28 year old 2nd baseman making 10 million a year would be counterproductive.

A trade would absolutely have to include Montero and Hughes at the very least, and even that would likely only be a starting point.

Either way, it's more of a pipe dream than anything else for Yankees fans at this point.

M's probably couldn't get a Mizuno bat for Aardsma right now let alone an impact bat.

They should've sold high on Aardsma...the package from the Yankees STARTS with Montero, Cano, Hughes, Texiera, and CC. Anything less no deal

I agree, but here's the thing.

The only way Ichiro has a chance of being dealt would be if he was the one who went to ownership and requested a trade.

With our current Japanese ownership, Ichiro is their cash cow.

Secondly, with his salary and age, he would be tough as heck to move in a trade.

In related news, the Red Sox want Albert Pujols.

Move on ... there's nothing to see here. It's more indicative of how bad the Yankees offseason has been that this would get it's own thread.
