Re: do you know any one who plays or who has played in the mlb

My summer ball coach 2 years ago, who I worked with a lot since then, played minor league ball in the 90's.

And my friend who runs the batting cage near me played D1 back in his day and I think some low levels of the minors. He's been associated with a lot of guys playing for money though.

Another batting cage near me has a lot of retired players like Bruce Fields who come there every Wednesday. You can schedule a hitting lesson for 30 minutes for like 20 bucks with them. Another one of the instructors got a taste of the big leagues with the '84 Tigers (WS Champs) But I can't remember his name.

I've met many players over time but none I would say I "knew". My uncle is the radio broadcaster for the Iowa Cubs (AAA) so I met several players in passing through him, but nothing more than that.
How would you like to play for the Tigers? You're 1 hit off Floyd is probably 1 more than the Tigers team has off of him in the past 3 years. Lol.

Brushing Shoulders With Baseball Players? [Stories, Soliloquies & Such]

I always like to hear from people who meets ballplayers. Not so much at the park which is easy, but running into them at the bank or something.

I wish I had something to kick it off with but I don't.

          Closest I came is:

1- Talking to Mike Pagliarulo's mom on the phone.

          2- Striking out Jeffrey Hammonds.

3- Giving nickname ideas to Chirs Berman.

          And the biggie..

4- Having 'The Boss' yes that one, answer my call.

Anyone have any good tales of running across any baseball people?
With ST upon us, its a good mood starter.

Thanks to anyone who contributes as I love hearing these tales.

I'm guessing you, me, and Mike Pagliarulo's mom may be the only people here who know who Mike Pagliarulo is

Negative. I have played with his SOM/Replay card on many occasions. In fact, played a game with him recently.

On the field for Oriole's Fan Appreciation. Got Felix Pie's game worn jersey. Tried to score Melvin Mora's bat at it was one of his last home games as an Oriole. Didn't work out.

In like 8th grade, my little league had a drawing to go down on the field for the national anthem at a Tampa Bay Rays game. I got to go down on the field and meet Johnny Gomes, but it wasn't exactly a random encounter with somebody somewhere.

I played against the HS that Jamie Moyer went to, played on a field that Reggie Jackson played on in HS, then named after him

A classmate of mine decided to go Clemson last year, after being drafted in the 29th round to the Mariners.

Well I know Daniel Norris but, he's still in high school. I know some of you have probably heard of him. He's a projected top 5 draft pick but, he will most likely go to Clemson for college baseball.
