Yah Ellis Valentine, Raines actually came up as a second basemen, Jerry White got traded to the Cubs at some point, might have been involved in the Rodney Scott trade. Scott had a couple of good years, in that era, it was assumed most guys had problems with cocaine when their careers flamed out, don't know if that is the case with Scott.

I think the question is total outfield. Mays/Mantle/Snider were great center-fielders but I doubt many can even name the great right and left fielders who played with these guys.
actually, the '61 Yanks may be the greatest outfield ever, the left fielder was a guy named Yogi Berra, as Elston Howard was still their catcher.
