Byrd starts the 9th with a rope single. One more Rammy....

Blown hit and run, and Byrd is toast. Ramirez K's on the next pitch and Pena pops up. Great story.

I didn't think we'd get back to .500 so quickly after the 0-4 start. Hell of a homestand. 3 out of 4 from Atlanta, 2 out of 3 from Chicago. Great stuff. Great resilience.

F'n Wood, I had a bad feeling when Mcghee came up. I would of rather pitched to Weeks in that situation than Mcghee but i might be in the minority.

also why was Byrd trying to steal 2nd in the 9th, I don't think it's the right time for that.. Unless it was a real hit & run.

But I guess there's a + so far into this season is that the Cubs are hitting way better than I thought they would.

Looked like a pretty obvious blown hit and run to me, Rammy nearly swung out of his shoes trying to hit that high pitch. Don't really like that decision by Quade - it's an all or nothing play where it might not have even been necessary - Ramirez was hitting the ball all over the park today.

As it stands neither side of the deal is being very productive for us, Luddy is struggling at the plate for you (not sure how hes doing in the field but I'd assume good as usual) and Westbrook is sucking it up on the mound for us.

Hoping he turns it around, he was my favorite Cardinal so I'm still pulling for him to do well in San Diego.
Ludwick has been fine defensively. I think moving him to LF will help him out this year. I remember in 2007 after Jim Edmonds was traded to the Padres, Edmonds mentioned that the Padres should have also tried to get Ludwick then as well.

Yeah thought so, wasn't quite sure. Terrible decision there, especially like you said the way Ramirez was hitting.

If anyone had Jared Weaver in their fantasy leagues today well....He's just dominated the Jays.

                  EDIT: Weaver's line 7.1 IP 4 hits, 4 walks, 1 ER, 15 Ks

Someone check the Padres locker room, they might be using the same thing Manny was using.

                    Where was this yesterday?

Well the Jays lost as they had a glorious chance in the 8th but Bautista couldn't come through against Weaver and the Lind didn't cash the runs in either.

It's not going to get any easier as they're gonna face King Felix tomorrow night.

Jonny Gomes with the go ahead homerun. I left when the reds had a 5-0 lead to finish up a paper, was dissapointed when I got back to see the Diamondbacks took the lead. But fear not, Gomes put the reds back on top. Hopefully they can hold on.

Reds pen just coughed up a late lead to Arizona. Snakes still batting in the 8th, tied at 7.

And Chris Young unties it with a 3 run blast!

Top 9, no quit in the Reds. First two reach and Rolen is the tying run at the plate. Rolen hits it on the screws, but right at Young for a sac fly.
