According to the Baltimore Sun after an interview w/ Peter Angelos, the Orioles could increase there payroll to $75 mill. Currently, it's at 60 million, but ~$25 mill is going towards Erickson and Belle, who aren't even playing this year. T-ba and Fordyce clear up another $10 mill, which gives the O's about $40 mill to spend this offseason (subtracting ~$5 mill for arbitration).

hmmm.....didn't the O's used to spend a lot of money...Oh yeah they did. I don't recall a World Series parade in Baltimore.

I don't follow the O's and actually know very little about them... so saying they do get Vlad, Tejada, and Vazquez, would they be a contender? My impression of them was that they needed general upgrades everywhere, and spending all of your payroll on three guys doesn't give you much flexibility if they need time to adjust or go downhill (see the Mets w/Alomar, Vaughn, Glavine, and Burnitz. Not as good as Vlad/Miggy/Vazquez, but still...)

Keep dreaming guerreo won't go to Balitmore he probaly wants a ring even though i can't stand the yankees(except when they are playing the indians, tigers, white soxs, and royals) they(the yankees) will get guerreo and balitmore will finish 4th in the division like they always do they lost their star pitch, so they don't really have nothing to build on (that i can see) and anyways they play in the toughest or one of the toughest divisions in baseball they won't win a world series tell at least 2020.

But Vlad's extremely uncomfortable with the media spotlight, which is why he likes Montreal. I think other teams can offer him similar $$ to the Yankees and he'd rather go there. His agent was even quoted as saying he'd like to go somewhere mid-market with welcoming/easy-going fans. Definitely doesn't sound like New York, but does that fit Baltimore?
