Re: Reds' pitcher Mike Leake arrested for theft

Just read on the Reds website that Leake seeks diversion program from the courts. Also Dusty said leake will make scheduled start Thursday, and Dusty said that he's or guy. Reds issued a statement as ell as Leake will answer question Thursday after game.

More I think about it makes me wonder if this was not some bad prank or hazing. Although i am not sure the shirts that were stolen form Macy's were Cards shirts as i was there opening day and never once saw Cards gear or any other team for that matter. Maybe I was not looking hard enough, lol, I just know that the whole time I was there everyone i met hated the Cards, lol.

This isn't hazing. I think people are just making up that he stole Cards shirts. And he wasn't wearing another players gear, or yelling that players name.

This is Leake stealing $60 worth of t-shirts.

I think they were just joking about that.

Leake didnt steal Cards shirts...they were American Rag shirts, which is a casual brand of clothes.

I wonder if we'll ever really know why he did what he did. The police stashed away $250 in cash as well as two Visa cards and a MasterCard he had on him when he was booked? Mike, seriously? Just pay for the darn shirts! Either that or find some other way to get a thrill.

And please pick something that won't involve the police.

In all honesty. I hope Mr.Leake gets the help he needs and starts a new chapter in his life.

Work in downtown Cincy about 2 blocks from the Macy's he was arrested at.
The newest is he brought in 6 of the same shirt he bought a few days before that were too small for him.
He says no one would wait on him as it was really busy. He needed to get to the park so he simply found the 6 shirts in the size he needed and removed the security tags, left the 6 that didnt fit him and left the store.
So basically he says he did an even exchange without any employee help.
I guess he thought he was at a Service Merchandise. lol

For some people it doesn't take much to go over the limit and they might drive thinking they are good when really they are not. What I'm saying is stealing is flat wrong. No grey area while a DUI, depending how high you are over the limit has some grey area so I can understand why someone stealing can be more stupid then someone with a DUI. A DUI can be a mistake. You don't steal by mistake. Hope that made some sense.

True, but in Cabrera's case, he took a bump off the bottle right in front of the cop. I'm pretty sure Cabrera was a tad over .08 when he got pinched.

Not that this is justified, but at least it sounds like a best case scenario.

I don't know why someone making that much money would be stealing shirts anyway.

Seems kind of far fetched imo, but hoping it is something other than him being a klepto or just a thief in general. Kid has talent and whatever it is I hope he gets it worked out.
