Interesting little read here about the compensatory picks and how ridiculous the results of the formula to come up with them can be.

Re: 2011 MLB Draft
Bubba Starlin Is gonna be a star hes got all the tools to succeed in the MLB i can only imagine what happens if he falls into Washington's lap at number 6.
that aside possibly the most interesting case is Josh Bell. he says that he is definitely going to college and asks that no one draft him but if a team throws enough money at him i think he will go pro.

Re: Pirates will select UCLA pitcher Gerrit Cole with no. 1 pick, a source says
I am, but the dude is not worth the 4th pick...it's clearly Hobgood Part II.
The guys I would take above Bradley, not counting Cole because he's going to Pittsburgh:
Anthony Rendon
Dylan Bundy
Danny Hultzen
Taylor Jungmann
Bubba Starling
Trevor Bauer
And it's guaranteed at least 4 of those guys will be available. It'd be an **** mistake if they take this dude over any of the guys I just listed. Starling is the only reach I'd understand because he's a potential 5 tool guy and outside of Machado and maybe L.J. Hoes we have zero offensive prospects to speak of.
If they pass on Rendon for anybody I'll personally drive to Baltimore and kick Joe Jordan in the shins.Comment

If you're referring to Cole, that's a horrible comparison. Bullington was a 100% signability pick and didn't have stuff near as good as Cole's.Comment

Oh god, now everyone is saying the Orioles are looking at Jed Bradley, which would probably be an even worse pick than Hobgood was because of how deep this draft is.Comment

BTW, I would love to have Danny Hultzen's perdicament. Major leagues or med school and a $20 million inheritance. Tough life.Comment
