They drafted mostly position players in the early rounds last year, so I don't really have a problem with the Bravos targeting some pitching early on this year.

Gilmartin is basically a Mike Minor lite... Another predictable safe pick for the Braves. I'll be interested to see who they take in the later rounds, where they traditionally pick pretty well.

So the Rangers drafted a small pitcher that probably won't sign? Sweet.

I'll be honest I went and researched if Michael Kelly was related to Casey Kelly.

Let's hope this group of supplemental picks do better than the 2007 one.

Add Purke on Tuesday. I'm loving the future of the Nats.

edit: That's not even including Meyer. I'm a Braves fan to the core, but Nats have some impressive young guys.

Like the direction of the Marlins draft, hear good things of the potential of Jose Fernandez although I hear differing opinion if he's a Starter or a Closer. Then some potentially solid picks in the 2-4th so far, maybe a future replacement to Infante in there

I came across this tweet while looking at some of the recent draft picks on mlb.com

Amazing: In tonight's #MLBDraft, the New England Patriots managed to stockpile 3 more 2012 #1 Draft picks.

Cubs have drafted a couple of famous kids.

Shawon Dunston Jr. and Trevor Gretzky.

I really like how aggressive the Jays are being with their drafting. A lot of high ceiling guys have been picked. That usually makes it even more of a crapshoot then usual but I admire Anthopolous taking risks.

I'm not too high on their first pick for one simple reason. He really wanted to be picked by the Red Sox and is apparently committed to playing at Vandy next year. The big thing for this guy (Tyler Beede) is money. That kind of talk sets off alarm bells for me as those kind of kids that immediately want money strike me as the kind of guys who'll take the money and won't have much incentive to work as hard as someone who gets paid a little less than hoped for.

That being said Beede is said to be a really advanced pitcher for his age and can pitch off of his fastball. In fact he ranges anywhere from 86-95 mph on the FB so we'll see if he gets signed.

Real classy move by the Rangers.

I also laughed out loud at Kip Fagg's name. Totally caught me off-guard.
