Ya, both the 2-2 and 3-2 pitches were strikes. Rauch had a reason to be heated...it was comical seeing him stand over the ump and Farrell trying to pull him off."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Yes, I thought Utley was safe, but that isn't why Rauch was heated."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

If that hammy is injured, Reyes' trade stock just dropped quite a bit."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

The inning should've been over twice, but he made a bad throw to McDonald who couldn't turn two. 2-2 and 3-2 were both strikes which also would've got him out of the inning.1905 1921 1922 1933 1954 2010 2012

I know that's why Rauch wasn't heated. I'll give you that the 2-2 pitch was closer/better.Comment

Good news for the Cardinals, Pujols is ahead of schedule in his recovery and could be activated sometime during the 4 game series against the D-Backs which starts on Thursday (best case scenario with how things are progressing right now). They could also wait til after the all star break but good to hear he is recovering well.
I would rather they just wait and activate him after the break for the series against the Reds rather than risk bringing him back a bit too early but if he really is ready we could definitely use his bat (although the team has been hitting better the last few games).
