I get the Swisher hate. The exaggerated gestures after every play make him seem like a hot dog. Nice guy or not, that's not going to play well with people - especially since he plays on a team that garners the most media coverage. He's better than a .210 hitter, despite his numbers this year due to the dreadful first first 2 months. His last two years have been pretty darned good though.

I dislike Pedroia - what kind of guy goes around calling himself Laser Show? He's overrated and talks way too much. At the same time he's got that special something that I really love in players that transcends numbers.

I don't understand how you anyone can hate Chase Utley. He epitomizes the term "baseball player", and he is not some malcontent selfish diva either.

That's where I have a problem with this thread...people hate other players because maybe said player crushes their team routinely, while that should just be respected as good baseball, and this thread should be littered with players who have a minotaur of their likeness over their bed. My thoughts anyways.......

I agree. Earlier in this thread when I mentioned Rickie Weeks I was saying it more in jest. I think he is a good baseball player and I have no reason to hate him. I hate how Reds pitchers can't put the guy away, but that's different.

Understand A-Rod. He's on my list. I can't hate on Utley. Don't have anything against him. Coco and Big Donkey can be/were frustrating to watch as members of the Reds but I can't hate on them either. I loathe Carpenter and Molina because they are a couple of annoying Cards players but would love them if they played for the Reds.

The only player that I cannot stand would have to be Johnny Cueto. Not because he plays for the Reds, or because he has pitched well against us this year, but because he kicked Jason Larue in the face and ended his career. His actions in the brawl last year were totally unacceptable.

Honestly, if I had to choose one, I don't like Carpenter. If we were doing a managers list instead of players, TLR would be at the top of mine. I respect Molina a lot though. I think the "hate" stems more from him actually sticking it to the Reds time and again with a clutch HR or something like that. I wish he played for the Reds. Not saying Hernandez and Hanigan aren't good, because they are, but I like the way Molina plays. It's the same way I feel about Hines Ward. I hate the guy because he's on the Steelers and plays the way he does. If he was a member of the Bengals? He'd be one of my favorite players I'm sure.

I listed those Carpenter and Molina because of the rivalry, which I think is awesome because it kind of means the Reds are relevant again! Outside of last season, they only had two seasons prior to that which were actually worth a crap (1995 & 1999). I said last year in threads that it is really tough for me to hate the Cards. I still say that. It's easy to hate the Cubs and Pirates (Cincy sports fans just don't like Pittsburgh anything) but between the Cards fanbase, and just the actions of players period over the years, it's difficult to hate on the Cards from an objective standpoint.

This. ESPECIALLY when he played for the White Sox and had to see his ugly mug every day on Comcast when I was trying to hear about the Cubs.

Never seen a guy who hit .210 glorified as much as Nick Swisher. He's garbage. God I despise him.

??? What has Chipper done to deserve your hate? Chipper screams old school throw back and has done so much unselfish for the team (change positions, give money back so other players can sign, etc). I'm really curious about this one...
