Does that mean the flip for Rasmus is done too?
Cards are still talking Rasmus with the Blue Jays and other teams, so maybe not.

EDIT: Money's the only thing holding up a potential trade that would send Jackson to the Cardinals and Rasmus to the Jays: http://twitter.com/#!/Ken_Rosenthal/...44046695108608

This is the deal that makes the trade deadline very interesting.

Update out of Cincinnati. The Rays have taken Shields off the market, as everyone assumed.

However, the Reds and Rockies may have a deal in place, which would send Ubaldo Jiminez to Cincinnati in exchange for Yonder Alonso, Yasmani Grandal, Homer Bailey, and Travis Wood.

The deal has about a 25% chance of happening, but it's still worth noting.

I wonder since Tor is most likely going to flip Jackson for Rasmus, what Else they would put in the deal.

I also think that would be a bad deal for the Reds. But anyways I don't think Ubaldo is going anywhere to begin with.

I was wondering how long of a leash Alex Rios had these days. He's been looking pitiful at the plate over the last few days.

And by the way... today's Tigers vs. White Sox game starts at 2pm ET. This is the main reason for the set 2:10pm deadline for the Alejandro de Aza call-up.

It's looking more and more that EJax will be flipped from TOR to St.Louis for Rasmus:

                    Just the last few days?

The Cards and 'Jays have talked Marc Rzepczynski and Octavio Dotel, and the Cards have asked about Eric Thames:

EDIT: A deal of Rasmus to the Jays for Rzepczynski, Dotel, and Jackson is "imminent":

If no Thames, deal is a steal.

I would not do it if Thames has to be included.

With that package, sounds like LaRussa was pushing Rasmus out the door.

Carlos Beltran is NOT going to the Rangers, with the Giants being the presumed frontrunner:

With that said, Jonathan Sanchez could go the Mets in a possible Beltran deal:

Just saw this: The Giants are in position to land Beltran, but the Phillies are not quite giving up:
