Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
That is a terrible package but to be fair in all the rumors that were talked about w/Rasmus. any deal was going to be a terrible deal for the Cards because they were selling him really low or his value was that low at this point.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

I don't see BJ Upton going for a package like that. I think this had a lot to do with TLR.Seattle Pilots GM (2011 - ) Record: 152 - 195

It's looking like the Giants have acquired Carlos Beltran:
A key development in talks may have been the Giants' willingness to include Gary Brown:

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Anyone know who the Jays are getting for Miller?
And for the fans who don't know much about Rzepczynski. He's a real good reliever. One of Jays best relievers this season. I'm sure they'll have fun trying to figure out how to say his name. But its not hard:

The Mets will likely receive two other players in addition to Brown, tweets Newsday's Ken Davidoff:

EDIT: One of them could be Zach Wheeler:
He says the trade could be announced later today or early tomorrow:

The deal does not include Gary Brown or Jonathan Sanchez:

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Here's a note on Pence talks from MLBTradeRumors:
Two front office men, neither from the Astros or Phillies, told ESPN's Jayson Stark they believed the Phillies had a deal for Pence in the last 24 hours only to have the Astros back off. The Phillies offered Jarred Cosart, Jonathan Singelton, and a second-tier pitching prospect for Pence, believes Stark. An Astros official told Stark they haven't said no to any specific proposal, however.

Could be just Wheeler and Cash for Beltran:

Wheeler is a huge pull for the Mets if they get him. He was one of the guys i didn't necessarily want to see traded, but the Giants do only have one shot in being defending champs..I do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can'tComment

Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread
Sheesh that was a rather complicated set of moves by the Jays. I don't exactly like having to give up Zep but I can see why it happened. So the Jays now have Mark Teahen, Colby Rasmus, Brian Tallett (why they re-acquired him I have no clue) and RJ Walters.
Trevor Miller is expected to be flipped to the Chi-Sox.
I'll miss Corey Patterson but there's a huge glut in the outfield now with Eric Thames developing nicely into a ML hitter and Colby Rasmus will provide stability in CF until Anthony Gose is ready to make the jump to the Bigs.
It's also a bit sad that Frasor is gone as he just broke the record for most appearances by a Blue Jays pitcher but that's the nature of the business sometimes.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
