If this happens, expect the heart attack rate in Wisconsin to go up. K-Rod likes to make games interesting. I'm just glad the Mets were able to get rid of K-Rod's contract (or some of it since I'm guessing they still are paying some of it)

        Suggestions by Brotherly Glove:

        1. Hunter Pence for Jarred Cosart, Domingo Santana, Scott Mathieson, and John Mayberry

        2. Pence and Wesley Wright for Cosart, Bastardo, Leandro Castro, and Mayberry

        3. Pence for Cosart, Michael Stutes, Santana, and Travis Mattair

Sounds like the Mets are paying $5 million of K-Rod's remaining salary. But the Brewers are on the hook for the $3.5 buyout or the $17 million option.

In a live chat at MLB Trade Rumors, Tim Dierkes expects the player(s) to be named a pitcher that has some MLB experience. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/0...at-1.html#more

I'm guessing the Mets would want a pitcher or two that they could put in the bullpen right away.
They're going to have Bobby Parnell get save chances at the moment, according to Rotoworld:

            The question, from the chat:
            Comment From Lapdog
Who do you suspect the Mets will receive from the Brewers?

Maybe at best someone like Brandon Kintzler or Mike McClendon, bullpen type arms with a little bit of MLB experience.

Doug Melvin, meanwhile, has hinted that no top prospects will go to the Mets (Not like they have too many left..) :

Could be Manny Parra. He's on the DL at the moment, so he'd have to be named later.

I hope it's not McClendon or Kintzler. I like both of them. Not enough that it would swing my opinion of the trade at all, though.

A piece of the article says the Mets will choose from 5 players in September:

"Brewers GM Doug Melvin discussed the Francisco Rodriguez trade this morning on MLB Network Radio channel on SiriusXM, and seemed to indicate to hosts Jim Memolo and Mel Antonen that the Brewers would not have to part with any of their top, top prospects in the deal.

The Mets will choose from a list of five Brewers Minor Leagues to complete the trade. Melvin told me last night that the picks will be made in September."

The Phillies are already loaded on the mound, and decently loaded in the field, i hope they don't get Pence. However since my Dodgers aren't going anywhere i do want to see the Phils win it all. conflicted

The only thing they really need is a right handed bat. Hunter Pence fills that hole perfectly.

#Brewers can now use K-Rod freely in closer's role without fear of option vesting. Option is gone. Games finished clause is gone.

I love the move by the Brewers even more now.

...and it looks like for only $500K more. If that's all the Brewers have to pay, that is a great deal for them. They have nothing to worry about now, for only half a million (I wish I could spend "only" half a million )

I liked the K-Rod move before, I love it now.

Doug Melvin is kicking *** this year.

So there's some talk by the media up here in Toronto that Aaron Hill may be dangled in trade talks. This isn't surprising as Hill is seriously in the category of "needs a change of scenery". I like the guy as he's been a classy player throughout his time here but it's time for him to go either via trade this season or being let go at the end of the year,

A lot of people smarter than I in MLB think that with a change of scenery Hill could become a gap hitter with doubles power and hist .270-.280 or if all things work right he could be back to hitting 30 HRs a year.

No matter what happens I wish Hill a lot of luck.
