Jnes is referring to his favorite Phillie, Raul the Jewel. Solo HR early, 2 run shot to tie it in the 8th and driving in Pence who doubled for the walk off in the 10th! Needless to say, he had a day. (no rap)

Alright, I just got to see the Tigers/Angels highlights and it brings up several points. First of all Ordonez clearly was not styling or admiring.... he was just watching to see if it was fair vs. foul. Weaver just got too sensitive too quickly. Which begs the question: why can pitchers thump their chests and go through all gyrations after a strike out, but a HR shot has to be treated as if an Amish guy just hit it every time? I see why Guillen did what he did since Weaver squaked pretty easily. But the throw to the head by Weaver was just garbage. Throw at the body if you're gonna throw at someone.... your really gonna run the risk of ending a guy's career or even killing him over that crap? Then the bunt to break up the no-hitter.... jeez. Gotta say that in the classless factor for this game, it goes to the Angels.

Yeah, this is just a tough call. Initially I was a little fired up and thought it was a bush move, but look what transpired from that. His bunt led to two runs being scored that inning and put them in a situation where they were one swing away from tying the game, which was the sole intention. Get on base, get Verlander in the stretch and see if you can make him stress a bit.

Does it suck as a pitcher...absolutely. But these are two teams in the hunt for their division and neither can afford to lay down in a game to help give a pitcher a no-no.

Also, this is part of Aybar's game. He's got something like 50 bunt hits since 2009. It's not like the dude that bunted against Schilling to break up his perfecto and was his first bunt for a hit attempt in his career.

I love all of baseball's unwritten rules, but within those rules are far too much gray area. At what inning is it too late? At what score? If that is a 1-0 or 2-0 game, they just tied up the game or took the lead based on that. Obviously there is a bit of touch and feel based on the tone of the game.

The more I think about this single attempt, the more I am OK with it.
