    Re: Yankees vs Redsox Thread

My unbiased review of a few happenings yesterday (noticing many of these comments are team biased!):

IMO Clemens didn't start this. It was the mess that happened the inning before. I DON'T think Pedro threw at Garcia though. That loaded the bases with 0 outs and Boston was down by 1????? IF he did it intentionally, that is one of the dumbest things he could've done. That was a game-breaking situation and Pedro needed to get out of it to keep his team close.

Ramirez was looking for a reason to charge. He was wrong in that situation. If you saw the first few pitches of the sequence, ramirez was bailing out. He thought he was going to get hit and retaliated on anything inside.

As for Zim and Pedro - 100% Zim's fault. He should've kept his old *** on the bench. Coaches are supposed to help stop these things from happening, not inciting them. Classless move IMO.

I understand where Jeff Nelson is coming from saying that Pedro could've moved out of the way, but this was in the heat of battle and Pedro reacted. Pedro did in fact move to the side a little and then pushed Zim down (I also think Zim going down had a lot to do with him being totally out of control. Hell he was falling before he got to Pedro.). I'd do the same exact thing if Zim was running at me swinging from the hip. Zim is old enough to understand his place. On the baseball field fighting with another player is not his place. IMO, he should be fired from his position immediately.

Bullpen - Here's what I got. Boston security guy was waving a Boston flag in the Yankee bullpen. Nelson charged him and took him out. IF that's true, Nelson should have criminal charges filed against him. Totally uncalled for. No reason this guy can't wave a Boston flag in the Yankee bullpen. I'm sure this isn't all that happened, but ballplayers get paid a lot of money to do a job. No reason they should attack a fan (unless the fan is charging at them) who is rooting for the opposing team.

Roger started it? Please, watch the game, hell watch the highlites, maybe even at least read about it in the newspaper before you make a statement like that. Roger Clemens did NOTHING wrong today, nothing.

You guys complain about the New York media being biased, maybe a couple of you should check yourselves.

And people wonder why I loathe the "lovable" Cubs and their fans.
Anyways, aside from the game yesterday, which we won, a whole sideshow happened. First, Pedro was on his game. Don't BS yourself, as if he was missing his spots or not healthy. It's the same tune everytime.
Second, Pedro could have sidestepped, like many suggested. He also could have restrained Zim, but not bodyslam him. And as Paul O'neil later sayed, "Looking down on him, as if he achieved a big thing."
Now, I give a pass to Manny, since of the situation at hand. I guess he was expecting it, and anything that came up, he was going off. Still overreacted though.
And finally, we have a groundskeeper taunting the Yanks' bullpen, and then stepping in to fight them. One question, why the hell wasn't he put in a headlock, like I saw a fan put in Oakland, after arguing with Boston's players? All the security did was hold him back.
                  Well, we're up 2-1.
Oh, yeah, what game have you been watching if you think Clemens started all this.

P.S. I stand corrected when I called these guys bunch of classless a-holes.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

                        <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

                        1. I think the bases would have been loaded with 1 out, not 0. Previous to that AB, Karim got a hit off Pedro and drove in a run. Now that the bases are loaded, Soriano is coming up who is mediocre against Pedro, and he could have either struck him out, or made him hit into a DP.

                        2. I agree, but I give him a pass on that.

                        3. Zimmer had no bussiness charging at Pedro, but Pedro still have restrained himself, or stepped out of the way. You do not attack an old man. Same way you wouldn't hurt a woman, if she wanted to fight you.

Last, by Nelson's story, the groundscrew guy was waving the rally rag all game by NY's bullpen, not Boston's, and in the 9th, Nelson got pissed off, and told him "nicely" to go do it by the BoSox's bullpen, which the guy took an offense to.

                          1. I think the bases would have been loaded with 1 out, not 0. Previous to that AB, Karim got a hit off Pedro and drove in a run. Now that the bases are loaded, Soriano is coming up who is mediocre against Pedro, and he could have either struck him out, or made him hit into a DP.
