Seriously, the fact that it happened to Papelbon makes it 50 billion times better.

Pap had a great season. Hate Carl Crawford ... or John Lackey. Or maybe Theo for both.Comment

Not to mention they were in a rain delay while the Rays made the big comeback and watched every second of it.
Absolutely incredible. Rays down 7-0, 6 run rally, then a strike a way from losing and they hit a tying homer. Papelbon dominates the first 2 hitters, is a strike away, and then 3 straight hits, and minutes later the Rays hit a walkoff. If this was in a movie I would think its way too over the top.
And that's not even getting into the national league. What a night.

I wouldn't mind Papelbon in an Orioles uniform. He'd be infinitely better than Kevin Gregg.
Oh, and someone has to get these MLBN reaction videos up.Comment

What if I told you that they would choke, that two teams would pull off the impossible. What if I told you that 9 wasn't enough, that it would all end In extras. What I'd I told you only one team has done it before, that this should never have happened.

Re: 9/19 - 9/28 Game Discussion Thread
the fact that Crush Davis got the hit to extend the game makes it even funnier. This dude has been garbage his whole career. but for one night even Papelbon made him look like a pro.
This is too funny... when the Braves lost, it was kind of bittersweet cause it was vs. Philly which was kind of anti climatic... these other losses though? Boston has no business losing to Baltimore in that fashion... it's too funny.Comment

Since the Tribe peaked in May and aren't in the playoffs I'm sporting the Rays avatar for October.
And by the way, tonight is the reason that baseball is the best sport on the planet. The things that had to happen for tonight to even be possible is unreal. And then tonight happened..Twitter

162 games, and it came down to a single pitch for the Rays to extend their playoff life. All of us have watched the game since we were little kids, and NO ONE on this forum could have remotely predicted how the wildcard shaped up this evening. Not a single person. That's the beauty of baseball.Comment

I don't ever want to hear the words "comeback code" again, LOL.
