The sample was double sealed, it was not contaminated, and it was proven to have elevated testosterone. I don't see what part of "we don't know the whole story" is left.
Well, maybe you didn't see this on the last page.

    Same situation, 18 yrs ago.

In 1994, British track star Diane Modahl tested positive for a banned substance. That positive test was overturned, however, when an independent panel ruled in her favor due to mishandling of her sample in a Portuguese laboratory. It was argued that bacterial activity could have increased testosterone levels while the sample was not refrigerated.

Continuing with, "we don't know the whole" story.

I did see it on the last page, and it still doesn't move my stance. This is standard operating procedure for drug testing across the world. Braun just happened to find an arbitrator that didn't look that far into it.

Look, I can't change your mind. As a Brewers fan, I guess you have a right to trust 100% in your guy. However, Braun now has to be careful of how the rest of his career goes. If he starts to plow the Brewers into Lake Michigan, or if he finds himself riding the pine for fifty games after another failed drug test, I guess we'll "know the whole story."

And I know I can't change your mind, either. I've stood behind him since day 1 and I am not about to change that.

And I willing to bet that last part is a big If.......

When it first hit I had to believe the information. Then when it was overturned and how Braun handled himself I started to feel maybe he isn't guilty of anything.

Now this? I'm leaning back towards guilty but I am still on the fence. I guess we'll have to let the whole story play out before we will know. I hate to judge and jump to assumptions. And despite the Cub fan in me, I always considered Braun a class act and highly regarded him as a person and a baseball player. Just hate the uniform he wears

he now on the list with a-rod, ronger clemanans those two lied a-rod lied first than was backed up to a wall so he had to admit it... add manny rameries to that list as well.

david ortiz was on something but he had help from the mlbpa and i think he handled it well even though most don't agree david is just a huge teddy bear ( maybe i am bais but i also loved david ortiz)

That is just in baseball. Athletes in other sports have tested at the same level and higher.

And it's not like there is a large sample size of players who have tested positive that they have for comparison. They haven't been testing in MLB very long, and it's not like that many players have tested positive either.

I'm not looking to argue, but I don't think this particular point has teeth.

Heh, what's the chances the collector's a Cub fan? haha. I do know his neighbor is. Lot's of Cub and Bear fans in K-town.

That's the collector. I know what you're thinking, he looks like a totally normal guy. Not at all capable of treachery. BUT WHAT IF I SHOWED YOU THIS?

Yeah. Tell me that guy's not capable of nefarious sample tainting. He probably taints drug samples for the mob when he's not out robbing trains.

I dont know, if you show me a guy with a top hat and monocle, and one without it, the guy without it is more suspicious.

I mean who wouldnt want to wear a top hat and monocle, what's his deal?

there is one VERY legitimate reason Ryan Braun would have artificial testosterone at high levels and nobody has mentioned it. I bet someone has and I haven't seen it... I'm going to google

But he was tested a few times throughout the year and passed every time.
How is that explained? His urine samples before and after this tainted one were all perfectly clean.

Also, in the book "Game of Shadows", it describes how when Bonds went off a cycle (because you have to or it could cause serious physical ailments), his stats dipped during that time, then went right back to crazy numbers like 6HR's in a 3game series, or 6 games, 6 HR's, etc when he went back on a 3-week cycle.

                              I don't see that in Braun's statline.

It depends on how often he was tested. Some AAS can leave the body pretty quick, it all depends on what type of base the AAS has. As for a 3 week cycle your gains would not be too great and it wouldnt even be worth it since your levels would raise then drop and you would have to go through post cycle therapy.

To the poster for a legitimate reason for having synthetic test in his system? i would love to hear this unless it was prescribed for re-hab or low natural test production from an M.D.

We will never know all the facts and all this does (imo) is make the testing system of any player come into question if one the registered testers is questioned.
