Why trade Soriano? All he needs is plate discipline.

Playing 162+ games a season in a seventh month span, I can see why.

Even then I'm going to think twice about it. NO WAY YOU TRADE SORI PERIOD. I would be really pissed if they do trade him because Sori got potential to be great, and we're just getting a glimpse of his raw talent.

Beltran's a great player, AI. Not only is he fast but he's rarely caught stealing. He plays a great CF. He hits from both sides of the plate, and is maturing. He walked almost as much as he struck out last season. I was reading the only switch hitter to have as many homers at his age is Mickey Mantle.

All bias aside, I really don't see what the big deal is about Soriano. He's over-rated. He clearly has no position, or any idea what he's doing with a glove. He obviously has no plan up there when he's hitting. He has off the charts physical talent, but you know the human body begins to decay at the age of 18 right? I think you're only glimpsing the beginning of the down-side of his career. He's useless once the body starts to break down. He's just not a baseball player. Derek Jeter is a baseball player. Jorge Posada is a baseball player. Carlos Beltran is a baseball player. Alfonso Soriano is a hack. This post-season more than ever is evidence of that.

I'd take the Soriano for Beltran trade in a NY minute if I'm the Yankees. Especially with Bernie not being able to play the great CF he used to. If I'm KC, I'm asking for Weaver and Soriano for a talent like Beltran.

You actually think people who stay in shape, and away from injury, are in their peak physical condition at 18?

There's a reason an athlete's prime years center around the age of 29 (think 27-32), and it's not just because of experience.
