To me it doesn't make much sense to start Beckett. Why not rest him just in case they need him for Game 7?? I mean, they could very well win it tonight w/o Beckett, but wouldn't you as a Marlins fan want your ace starting in Game 7 (Well Rested), if it goes that far?? I would. If it were me, I would keep Beckett for Game 7 and take my chances in Game 6. I just don't get this move. I'm routing for the Marlins, since they knocked my Giants out.

Exactly. As a Yankee fan, I'm happy about this. To win the World Series, the Yankees will have to beat Beckett anyway. I'd rather it be on 3 days rest than full rest.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

yeah and throw Redman out there to get creamed again? yea right if the yankees win this series they are gonna have to go through beckett and pavono now. put the two best u got 3 days rest or not and if u cant do it then u werent meant to win the title. dont put someone out there to save someone for game 7. u want to win and with redman on the mound that wouldnt happen. he wouldnt make it out of the 1st inning. GO MARLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MarWinner - Good points. I guess it's not as bad a move as I first thought. I just hope both guys on short rest and go a good amount of innings because I'm not real confident in the Marlins bullpen. Actually I'm pretty sure the bullpen can't hold down the Yanks if they have to come in around the 6th.

I also agree that it's going to be tough for FL to beat Pettite in game 6 - even with Beckett pitching...

I think McKeon shouldn't have used Willis in relief but saved him for the start in the Bronx. We(the crowd) would have got on him so fast ...but I'll take my chances on two guys with 3 days relief.. And if you guys believe in jinxes, then Beckett just jinxed himself, and maybe the Fish, by saying the ghosts of the Yankee Stadium are dead.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "
