Re: Mechanically who was the best hitter you have seen?
Almost forgot about one of my favorite players from my hometown, Manny Ramirez.. the guy has a beautiful swing when he misses and when he blasts it out of the park.
Remember this walk off in the 2007 ALDS?
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.Comment

Aside from the lying over steroids, Rafael Palmeiro had one of the sweetest swings I have ever seen in person. Never looked like he was fooled on anything, and never looked like he was even trying. Completely fluid from hitch to follow through.Comment

Adrian Gonzalez kind of reminds me of that. Very effortless swing that manages to produce a lot of power.Comment

I can't say I know a ton about proper swing mechanics, but I love Mark McGwire's and Stan Musial's swing.Comment

Are we talking mechanics or looks? Because a lot of people list pretty looking swings here.
Case in point, Ken Griffey Jr had an easy swing to fall in love with, but mechanically he got himself in trouble at times by trying to pull the ball too much.
On the other hand his teammate, future HOFer Edgar Martinez, was just about perfect. He covered the entire zone and drove the ball with power to all fields. It seemed like he was locked in every at bat, an amazing hitter. All ties severed...Comment
