I can't love opening week anymore if the pitchers can no longer bring their game. I'm overreacting.

Looks like Matheny might actually have to do some of that managing thing today. The offense (and the Marlins...LOL) made it pretty easy on him on Opening Night.

Edit: And as I say that Molina goes yard...

Both pitchers in this game are getting rocked now.

Lol at Ryan Doumit...that's why you don't play a catcher in right fielder Gardy

Edit: Unless it's Joe Mauer

Delmon Young-quality play by Doumit in the outfield gives the O's a 4-0 lead.

I think that he just made Delmon look like Torii Hunter

No, he didn't injure himself by running into the wall like Delmon did (allowing an inside the park home run) when I was at Miller Park last year.

At least the other new corner outfielder just made a play!

Cards lead on 3 solo homeruns.

                    Albert who, indeed.

                    And now FOUR.

Apparently Gallardo doesn't want to get anyone out.

And apparently Shields and Sabathia are having a meatball contest at the Trop.

                        Great baserunning by Longo.

I dunno...hit scores 2 instead of one by moving him up. And in this case scoring 2 puts you in the lead. Seems alright to me. More typical of NL ball than AL though.

And CC foils it with a strikeout. And Johnson is just plain robbed by A-Rod to end the inning.

Elliot Johnson is the worst. He had a sub-.600 OPS last year. He is a solid defender, but that's it.

The one-tool player Mark Reynolds tried to extend the inning, but he got bailed out by Chris Davis at first. Man, it would have been nice to have Mauer and Morneau up in that inning.
