Can anyone tell me why Gallardo didn't pitch tonight?

Jordany Valdespin gets his first MLB HR...a 3r HR off Papelbon in the 9th to push the Mets up 5-2. Good for Valdespin, bad for Phillies

What a shot too, no doubt about it when he hit it

The ceremonial first pitch at the Cards and D'Backs game was probably the coolest thing I've seen in a while.

They had two kids throw out the first pitch to a guy in a catchers mask, not knowing that it was their father who had just come back from Iraq. Really amazing to see.

No reason for Fredi to go out and argue...

Leadoff walk by Marmol...the only difference is that it's the 8th inning and not the 9th.

On some level it's almost impossible for this kid to not turn out like he has as he's been coddled/told he's the greatest for so long. All I care about is he plays hard and cares...fun to watch.

I would like to see anyone here, who given they had that kind of talent, that kind of money and so many people stroking their ego's at age 17, 18, 19 not have some issues until they matured.

People seem to forget how young this kid is, and how rare his circumstance growing up is. Yet no one wants to cut him any slack.

Does he come off douchey? Yes he does at times. But to me, every 19 year old kid does, nevermind a 19 year old millionaire playing in the big leagues.

Cubs escape the Marmol inning with no runs scored.

He actually made some pretty good pitches for the last two K's.

Ahh, the general constant of life: money and power changes people. The act of humility is such a rarity these days...
