He is The Natural incarnate, and its painful to see him do these things in another uniform, but I feel in my heart that he was never going to get together while on the Reds. Some things just aren't meant to be.

Not to belabor the Harper thing, but I just got home and read this thread.

Cole Hamels hits him on purpose.

The Nationals GM loses his **** and drops a fairly epic hyperbole by calling it the dirtiest thing he's seen in 30 years or whatever.

Meanwhile, allow me to present Bryce Harper's response in his postgame comments:

"He's a great guy, great pitcher, knows how to pitch," Harper said with a laugh, according to The Washington Post. "He's an All-Star. It's all good."

This after he steals home, gets up, and jogs back to the dugout without any real celebration over what just happened. What has he done since called up to the majors that earns him this scorn? He clearly knows his place now that he's in the majors and has dialed his cockiness back to pretty much zero.

I seriously shook my head at that last strike. It wasn't even close to the zone and it's a "strike". Jim Joyce, smh. ( I didn't watch all of the last at bat but i saw the last two pitches)

Five pitches out of the zone, Pena doesn't swing at one of them and somehow he strikes out.

Bases loaded in the 9th down by 2 runs. A strike should never be called in that situation if it isn't a strike.

Dan Uggla's bases loaded single puts the Braves up 3-1 over the Cubs in the 8th.

And McCann proceeds to get picked off at 2nd for the third out. Going to the bottom of the 8th...It's Venters time!
