    Dude is ridiculous.

Jeeze, what a night for Josh Hamilton. It's safe to say I'm winning the HR category in fantasy this week.

In all honestly I believe him to be the most talented baseball player to ever walk the planet.

The drug abuse was his fault, his demons, but the fact remains that he was away from baseball smoking crack for the better part of four years... To come back and do what he's done is beyond remarkable. It's something that I doubt anyone will ever see again. Not the drugs... But the time missed and the level he has played at since getting his life on track. It will be something that I tell my grandchildren about.

        The Natural, indeed.

          Ever?

You do realize there was once a guy who hit more than 700 home runs and also has the highest OPS in the history of the game at 1.164. This same guy also won almost 100 games as a pitcher and sports a career ERA of 2.28 and a career WHIP of 1.15 in over 1200 innings pitched.

          What about that guy?

Awesome display of ability by Hamilton...my pessimistic thought of the evening has him on the DL before the end of June.

Josh Hamilton in one night hit 1 quarter of the Padres team HRs so far this season. Eat your hearts out Padres fans...

This is a joke. We blew like 20 saves last. Year and were second In the league in blown saves this year. Farrell's managing has been very suspected

It could be worse. You could have Bobby V as your manager.

Without going too far down this path, that guy had the advantage of being allowed the opportunity to play both positions. And even he fell victim to the whole if he's so good hitting why is he pitching theory.

If modern baseball didn't put such an emphasis both financially and stragically on being a one way player I'm sure there would be others with the talent of that guy to be as good on the mound as they were at the dish.

I didn't see this earlier but I don't think Farrell is all that bad. I do think he has a bit too much faith in Cordero and Lind isn't THAT bad though his bat is not fit to be in the 4th slot right now but his career numbers tells us he should be good at it. I'm not so upset about his lineup as I am about his insistence on trotting Cordero out there for an automatic blown save.

I think that Farrell does a fair job at being an in-game manager it's the other stuff he's a bit weak at. You'd think he'd consult Wakamatsu and Butterfield about some of those long term kind of managerial decisions but I have a feeling he doesn't really consult them on that but rather leans on them for the in game managerial stuff.

That's not all, he matched Chase Headley's team lead in one night.

Lind has been horrific the last 2 and a half years. obp of less than .300 last year and an ops of .690 is not going to cut it in the al east. At least for today against Oakland he's batting him in the 7th spot.

My comment on Farrell was a little knee jerk. But he has handled the pen terribly the past two seasons.

Babe Ruth was the man, no denying that.

But when looking at pure baseball talent, I think Hamilton is above Ruth and that's not me taking anything away from the Babe... I just think no one has had a better all around skill set than Josh Hamilton. It's my opinion and I could definitely be wrong.
