Ah sorry I must have missed it. It's not easy you are right. For the average player this is really difficult. We are not talking about average players though. We are talking about elite MVP players who have the this ability. These kind of players know how to hit the ball where it is to their advantage.

Longest HR I've ever seen I think was Bonds at Qualcomm where he hit the ball to the scoreboard in RF, or a bomb Kevin Mitchell hit off of Rob Dibble in Candlestick in his MVP year. That ball may not have landed yet.
Good points with Galarraga, Bichette and Castilla. I just pulled up Castilla's profile on baseball-reference.com, and his OPS was .870 with Colorad, and well below .800 with everybody else but Houston.

I was fortunate to attend the 1998 All Star Game and home run derby in Colorado. Saw Mark McGwire hit a homerun in the derby to straight away centerfield that hit off the facade of the seats out there, 500+ feet.
Bonds probably would've been able to hit .400 with all the homeruns at Coors.

Pretty sure he was joking, lol.

But I'm with you 100% on the perception of PEDs.

My goodness Josh Hamilton has got to be frustrating to have on your team, fantasy and real.
April and May playing like the best hitter in baseball, June and July playing like a freakin scrub, worse than that actually.
It just amazes me the turnaround he has had on his season.

Do people think he will still get a lofty contract, or will teams be hesitant?

He'll get the contract. I just hope the Rangers aren't the team to give it to him.

I was hoping that Choo or Upton could be dealt to the team so that Hamilton's departure would be less severe. There are some people who are going to cheer the man no matter what, but I see such a disconnect between Hamilton and upper-management that I doubt anything will keep him here. Heck, Washington has pulled him around the lineup; something that is rarely done to veterans of the team.
