As long as he keeps pitching the way he has been he can wear a knight helmet to the mound for all I care.

Haha...man, I'm awful about updating those things. I do it and forget it until someone notices it months later...it just doesn't register with me. Thanks.

Well, let's call it like it was in this particular game as he was lucky that double play ball wasn't smoked somewhere else like it was to the 1st B.

He's a lot further along than I thought he'd be. Especially considering he missed so much spring training. He looks to be the real deal, and might be that 5 tool player that is so rare.

                  No love for Andy Pettitte?

Not at least over the last 6 pages.

Can I get at least a couple thumbs up for 0 ER and 9 SO?

You got one from me. Tim Duncan lighting guys up, KG playing well, Andy throwing 8 shutout innings with 9 K. It must be 2003 again

Pettitte faced a young, over aggressive team last night, and basically made them look foolish. I don't think the Yankees can expect that every game, but I think Andy will do well for them this year.

There must be something wrong with how the Reds' coaching teaches their hitters. A few guys have been swinging way too freely for years and it hasn't changed.

I was at the Yankees-Reds game last season in Cincy when he pitched and he mowed the Reds down. It was arguably his best start all season: 8 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 7 K, 0 BB.

Brook Jacoby. You have to wonder how long he'll last as hitting coach. Apparently they learned nothing after facing Nova last season too.

Considering his K/9 rate last year, I'm thrilled at what he's been able to do during moments this season in terms of SO.

Either his stuff got better, or he got more deceptive, or something.

He seemed to pitch to a lot of contact last year.

Well Nova might have 11 K's now but so what. Nice work, Votto! 5-2 Reds.
