So what you're saying is that a no hitter with walks is harder to achieve than a perfect game? If so, that is ridiculous. And the number of perfect games to the number of no hitters will bear that out.

Not exactly.
......and it's a bit of a paradox the way I'm presenting it.
(even though I used the logic you're throwing back at me for no hit's vs. 1 hits)

It would be impossible to actually prove out in any real way.
(and let's face it...each game/pitcher is it's OWN level of difficulty depending on how he is actually pitching that day)
BUT..
I think you'd have to look at not the # of no hitters with walks vs. the # of perfect games but actually how many no hitters were LOST after giving up a walk vs. how many were LOST with no BB's given up.
Wouldn't that be the truer measure of which had the bigger effect on a pitcher losing his no hit bid?

What I'm saying is that because of men on base.....it might be harder to keep the other team from obtaining a hit.
If you would agree that pitching with men on base is more difficult than pitching with NO men on base.....than you cannot dismiss my argument.

Oh...and that was definitely a hit by Beltran last night.

I do like how every just let it go as a missed call and went about their business.(on the St. Louis side)

I did, the TV guys, and a lot of fans did, but the Post-Dispatch didn't, which I find juvenile and bad journalism. I'd be embarrassed if I was the head writer, owner, or whatever.
