Damn I'm still praying Vlad doesn't go to Yankee-land. As for Alomar, if he couldn't handle Queens what makes you think he could handle the crazy fans in the Bronx AND Steinbrenner breathing down his back?

If anything he'd thrive in a situation that is less of a pressure cooker.

I sure hope Vlad doesnt either. I wonder how the Spos will manage now? sigh...

anyhow Alomar would actually fit in well with the Yankees IMO, however I always hate it when big time players sign with them, Its just so unfair. I dont hate Yankee Fan, Im sure theyr all nice guys, I do however, Hate George S.

To add on the other stuff...from ESPN it says that the Yanks are interedsted in Rafeal Palmero to back up Giambi at first and/or DH. Also repots them interested in a three way deal that would bring in Jim Edmonds and Curt Schilling. The Yankees also met with Bartolo Colon recently.

Cool your jets (new York reference ) The Yankees are not going to make a huge splash this off-season. Unless something changes up there. They might sign one or two guys but all the quotes I've read have Cashman bitching about all the money they have tied up in 6 players. So unless they unload a couple of those guys they won't be signing another $50 million worth of talent.

Lets see if we can clear up some of these rumors

Roberto Alomar: more likely to re-sign with the White Sox than sign with the Yankees

Rafael Palmeiro: wants to stay in Texas, will probably re-sign

Jim Edmonds: Cardinals GM Walt Jockety claims he has not talked to anyone about Edmonds

Curt Schilling: will only accept a trade if he gets a contract extension

Andy Pettite: will probably re-sign with the Yanks, unless Houston can trade Richard Hidalgo and free up some cash, there will be no real competition for him

Vladmir Guerrero: says he does not like the media spotlight and does not want to go to a big media city like New York, his agent on the other hand says the Yankees will be one of the teams he expects to negotiate with

Bartolo Colon: we all saw this one coming, he will probably be a Yankee.

Trust me, if the Yankees feel the need to make a big splash, they will do so. Last year they talked about lowering payroll all offseason. Instead, they kept virtually the entire team, and signed Matsui, and Hammond.
