Re: 6/11 - 6/17 Game Discussion Thread
Manny asks for his release from the A's, and it was granted. Which makes me wonder if he just used the A's to get rid of his MLB supension and now he is an unfettered free agent?Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Mitch Williams said on MLB Tonight that he thinks Manny would be a good fit for the Phillies. I disagree.Comment

Re: 6/11 - 6/17 Game Discussion Thread
The umpires made one of the worst calls I have ever seen.
A liner back up the middle was caught in the air by the pitcher, Joe Kelly, how showed the home plate umpire that he caught it, the home plate umpire called the batter out. Kelly threw to first, got the runner on first out on a no tag up, and finally got the runner on second with a no tag up as well. Triple play.
Ned Yost comes out, umpires meet, and they say that Joe Kelly didn't catch the ball, he just stopped it and threw to first to get the batter. I guess the home plate umpire was trying to claim that he didn't call it a catch, even though he signaled out and it was clearly caught. The umpires awarded the Royals runners second and third with the Cardinals getting the runner out at first. Now we are down 1-0.
If Kelly didn't catch it, he still would have had plenty of time to throw it to second to get a double play. Also, how can the umpire say he didn't call the batter out on the catch after he just did call him out on the catch?
What is with all the terrible calls this year? These guys seem to be doing worse.Last edited by sydrogerdavid; 06-16-2012, 02:53 PM.Comment

How does Denkinger keep getting to call these Cards/Royals games every year?
Luckily Bruce Chen is on the mound today. It's already proved beneficial to the Cardinals.Last edited by sydrogerdavid; 06-16-2012, 01:48 PM.Comment

Umpire in the Yanks/Nats games called Tyler Moore out at home plate, when the replay showed he was safe; got underneath the tag. Nats would've taken a lead 4-3. Keyword=Replay. **** this human error bull****....and not that I care because I'm a Nats fan...I care because I am a baseball fan.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
