Verlander Starting for AL

Cain for NL

Apparently, the managers are leaning towards Verlander and Cain to start. Hard to argue against any of the candidates for the starting nod but I actually figured I'd see Weaver or Sale starting in the AL.

Not that I don't think JV isn't deserving, but I figured the sexy sub 2 ERA or the surprising breakout ace would beat out steady ol' Verlander. I mean Verlander is leading the MLB in innings and tied for the lead in strikeouts...as well as averaging some ridiculous 7+ innings per start. I think a very telling stat for me is that Verlander has 30+ more innings than both Weaver and Sale, and he has only walked 5 more than Sale, and 8 more than Weaver. His W/L may not be as impressive as it was last year, but wins are a stupid stat anyways.

Regardless, all of them would be deserving of the start and I really couldn't argue against any of them.

I feel like I say this every year, but the Home Run derby NEEDS to be on MLBN. Just another year of watching something I love on mute for a good part of the broadcast.
