The Tigers are such a frustraing team. In the first 4 innings, they had two doubles in the same inning yet failed to score a run. They made 2 errors on routine plays, even Jackson who hasn't made an error in 173 games. Even the players they struck out, reached base. If they would have hit a homerun, it would have been revoked for missing homeplate afterwards. They did everything wrong.
And then the 8th inning comes and they decide to lace together 5 straight hits with RISP, which is probably more than they have had in the past 10 games.

Yes, but do keep in mind that Beckett's stuff has vastly diminished, his fastball this year(tops out at around 92, 93) is basically what his changeup was in '07. Now the Rockies lineup isn't murderer's row, but as a Red Sox fan, I've seen him struggle against even more offensively challenged teams. A change of scenery to LA does help, but he also needs to reinvent himself on his new team because he's not a power pitcher anymore.Last edited by MostlyChilly; 08-25-2012, 10:11 PM.Comment

Oh boy
My worst fears about Jose Bautista may be coming true with this wrist injury. The game is replete with guys who've had good careers derailed by such injuries and it's not looking good for Joey Bats. The other night he used a two handed swing basically to protect his wrist but tonight after swinging on an inside pitch with his usual one arm release swing he re-injured himself and is back on the DL.
I hope like crazy that this doesn't derail his career but i'm not holding my breath.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
