Oh boy

My worst fears about Jose Bautista may be coming true with this wrist injury. The game is replete with guys who've had good careers derailed by such injuries and it's not looking good for Joey Bats. The other night he used a two handed swing basically to protect his wrist but tonight after swinging on an inside pitch with his usual one arm release swing he re-injured himself and is back on the DL.

I hope like crazy that this doesn't derail his career but i'm not holding my breath.

For what its worth, Ethier missed most of last year with a wrist injury and came back fine this year.

Coincidentally, I had Lee going in an MVP game yesterday vs the Red Sox and blew a 4-0 lead, letting them tie it. Only to get to the Sox bullpen in the late innings and win it, rendering a no decision for Lee. Spooky.

Oh damn....I just whammied him... didn't I.

Man... and I almost did. LaRoche just put one out to RF with Werth on and it hit the VERY TOP of the metal railing on the short fence and came back in. It actually made the bar bend and then catapulted back in to play. LaRoche thought it was out, naturally, and was on 3rd base before he could do anything. Never seen that before. I captured a screen during replays:

I'm sure they'll show it on all the highlight shows later. It hit the very top of the pole, not a fan was near it, and bounced and came back in, not clearing the top as needed. Stroke of luck.

Brewers crushed the Pirates today 7-0. i'm starting to think the Pirates might be done. Even though they are still close in the WC standings they don't look as good.
On the other hand, the Brewers are starting to look like a scary team going forward and for next year. Mark Rogers is really starting to look good. If he can limit early damage like he did today, he could be good next year. It sucks though that he's on an innings limit and may have made his final start of the year.

I leave the room with the score 2-6 Twins to get... something; Not really sure, and then I see Casey Fien exiting the bullpen and the score at 5-6. What?

After a brief bit of rewinding, I see that, as usual, it's all Jeff Gray's fault.
