It appears "Little Matsui" might be heading to the Mets.
Im a huge met fan and Im happy about this move. Even is Reyes has to move to second, I think Reyes will be just fine no matter where he plays. I also think it not a bad move cause Reyes is still young and to learn Second base now wont hurt him at all. good move mets and about time, Go after VLAD G. next.N.Y Mets
N.Y Giants
N.Y Knicks

Is NY big enough for 2 Matsuis?
I can see it now during the Subway Series next year: the battle of the Matsuis. Big Godzilla vs. Little Godzilla.
There might not be room for the North American press!Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: It appears \"Little Matsui\" might be heading to the Mets.
Because A-Rod and Garciaparra are on the market and being shopped the quality SS's on the free agent market are being somewhat overlooked. Both Matsui and Tejada are valuable players that could be had for far less then they'd demand in other years.
Reyes is a SS. It would be a shame to mess with his game so early in his career. I don't think this is a good move by the Mets. If they focus their attentions on any one free agent it should be Mike Cameron. If the Mets played good defensively they could compete, and Cameron would solidify that team.Comment

Re: It appears \"Little Matsui\" might be heading to the Mets.
I think it's a good move from the standpoint that Reyes is young it's not like he's been playing SS his whole career in the big leagues. Besides learning another position can be good for him later on so that he can have versatility when he comes onto the market years from now. People can look at him as a SS or a 2B.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: It appears \"Little Matsui\" might be heading to the Mets.
I wouldn't move Jose Reyes yet. First, I guess the Mets got him to accept it when they visited him to talk about the issue in his home in Dominican Republic. Now, when I was thinking Matsui will come to us(Yanks), I was debating whether Jeter should be moved for him. Of course, my fellow Yankee fans didn't like the idea of him moving, since he is the captain and is gracious out at SS, I, on the other hand, wanted to move Jeter to second/third, but first I would place Matsui at 2B/SS to see how his defense is. He is after all 3 time gold glover, and Jeter's defense is subpar. After you get a first hand look of Matsui defense in ST, then you make the move. Same I guess would apply for Reyes and the Mets, but I hope the Mets do get him, so I'll have more baseball to enjoy watching come the baseball season." I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "
