Nope... good to see the Orioles make the ALDS... but also fearful for the certain apocolypse that will result from the Orioles actually making the playoffs... it was good knowing you all. :wink:MLB: Minnesota Twins

Not nearly enough boos from that Texas crowd. The chokejob this team pulled is inexcusable given the talent.Comment

Re: Play-In Game Discussion Thread
The Hardy trade (along with the Gomez trade to the Brewers) were just baffling to me. Hardy is (IMO, of course) one of the best shortstops in the league... this may sound crazy, but I honestly believe it. He has a nice bat and is a solid fielder. And of course, hindsight is always 20-20, but I think it was clear that if the Twins wanted to continue the success they were having after that 2010 season, they would have held on to JJ Hardy. Anyhow, the O's played a nice game tonight, and they absolutely deserve to move on to the ALDS... I know I'll be rooting for them the rest of the playoffs.MLB: Minnesota Twins

It was a good run, but the way Texas played down the stretch they didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. Certain players didn't look like they cared either way.Fan of....

Re: Play-In Game Discussion Thread
I swear on my mother's eyes I have seen it happen before and more than once. If that's not good enough for you, I don't know what to tell you.
The only difference was, the ball was always caught and therefore, nobody complained about it after the fact,
Besides, I have no way to pull random video from random games out of my *** due to MLB's video rules.
Just by reading the official rules though, it doesn't matter how "deep" the ball was hit. Theoretically, an infield fly could be called on the warning track, but it would be highly unlikely.
EDIT-
Yeah, this too:
They just showed a play from May 16th of this season (Phillies @ Cubs) where Starlin Castro was drifting back into left field and stopped at pretty much the exact same point as where Kozma was tonight. The umpire signaled for the infield fly at pretty much the same time too. The only difference was that Castro caught the ball and Kozma didn't.Comment

Re: Play-In Game Discussion Thread
I have to tell you it seems monumentally unfair what happened to the Braves on that infield fly rule ball but it seems MLB-N supplied proof that it's been called that way before but I think that's a very rare thing and every time its happened the fielder caught the ball. It just looks real bad because we've normally seen that go by and not be called an infield fly.
Either way i'm not sure fate was on the Braves' side, they played immensely tight, played sloppy defense and the usually reliable Chipper Jones was a bit of a goat with a real costly error.
as for the other game, I didn't see much but glad the O's won.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
