I've been trashing it since it was originally announced. My guess is I'm not the only one who didn't suddenly start hating this format 20 minutes ago.Comment

Don't worry...no one will be able to fill that request. Terrible call. Damage is done. Sucks, you just gotta hope this kinda crap doesn't happen to your favorite team.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Play-In Game Discussion Thread
I'm just saying that I get a kick out of how most of the protesting I am seeing now comes from people with Braves stuff in their avatars or in their sig after it has been so quiet for awhile now about the format.
I don't have anything against you and I'm not disputing that you have trashed it before. It wasn't directed towards a specific individual. I apologize if you interpreted it that way.Comment

Re: Play-In Game Discussion Thread
I will say that this "win" doesn't feel like a real win with all the controversy. I don't want any of you guys leave hear thinking that it's easy for a Cardinal fan to accept a win like that. It doesn't feel nearly as bad as losing like that, but it also leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth going forward in the playoffs. I don't want this year to be known around baseball as, "the year the Cardinals wouldn't have even gotten as far as they did if the umpires didn't screw it up."

Re: Play-In Game Discussion Thread
I agree with the most ridiculous overreaction to a call ever.
Kozma jogged over there and it looked like he was camped under there and either lost the ball or thought Holliday called him off. I would agree with the bad call more if Komza would have been busting his tail over there and barely got there.
I think the only fault is that it was called late. It is a judgement call, I wasn't there on the field it's not my call. I would agree with the call besides the fact that it was late.
I also love everybody trashing the format after there is some controversy. It's a play-in game. Do or die, we all knew it was going to be like this so all the hate after the result is disputed makes me laugh.Comment

Re: Play-In Game Discussion Thread
Fans throwing stuff onto the field reminded me of this scene from The Simpsons
"...And here come the pretzels." Poor Whitey Ford.
That call was an absolute joke. I've never seen an infield fly called that late. The infield fly rule is there to prevent an infielder from deliberately letting a ball drop to try and turn a double-play. Right? When the ump calls it, it's runners discretion on whether to advance. There was no way the SS was in a position like that. He kept drifting out towards Holliday. Even back in the day when they had, I believe, the infield fly line (I remember seeing it at Riverfront) drawn out on the field, I think that ball fell way behind that line. Yeah there was a whole inning and 4 more outs for the Braves but that second out killed their momentum. Ball 4 on the first batter by Motte walks in a run if that call wasn't made. Two-run game with bases loaded, 1 out in bottom of the 8th. Game changer.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
NHL: Calgary Flames
