That would be great if they could *** Jacque. An all Jones outfield would be even better!

On another Braves note, read the following:

Maddux not offered arbitration or contract

It appears that Schuerholz didn't even offer Greg anything. At least offer the guy something. He deserves that much after 11 years. The only reason I can think of that he wouldn't offer would be that Boras was telling them that their intended offer was way too low or something. Either way, it stinks.

right now the braves are screwed. the phillies are much better with the aquisitions of wagner and worrell. the marlins will still be tough, even tho pudge is gone. the mets got matsui, but mets are always unpredictable. and the expos are always a tough group.

I dont see the braves doing anything next year with this group. They'll be lucky to push 75 wins next year.

I think you're underestimating the Braves here. Bobby Cox is a very good manager and has won games with far less talent then the current Braves team for '04. I think they will struggle but to say they won't even make 75 wins is pushing it.

The Phils have a manager who's known for having outbursts and breakdowns down the stretch, we've yet to see if the Marlins were a one year wonder or not, and the Expos will TRY to contend but I just don't see it as they're purged some great talent.

The Braves will find a way to contend. This might be the year that the Braves have to "gasp" fight for a playoff spot!
