Really? Hmm...Nice addition but I am more concerned about that outfield. I am growing impatient but i know you have the non-tender dates as well...I just want the mets to be active

            Re: Tejada Rumor

Where have you seen this latest rumor that it's only about Detroit and Baltimore? The big AP story as of last night and early today had Tejada saying that he wants to sign by the end of the weekend, but no mention of any team. Detroit?? Tejada must be in the mood to go from a contender to a team that will have to make a run at 60 wins next year. Baltimore?? If he goes there, he might as well get used to 4th place for the next decade after the kinds of moves the Yanks, Sox and Jays have been making.

After all of Tejada's suffering in his early years with the A's when they were terrible, I can't imagine that a few extra million per year is enough to make him go to a losing franchise. This guy is a firecracker of emotion who HATES losing, so he might spontaneously combust by August next year. As much as many want to believe Tejada wants to go to a winner, if this is true then in the end it's all about who is paying the most money (as usual). Can't fault anyone for taking the highest bidder, can't play ball forever and this is his best chance to cash in on a soft market.

Would have loved him in Seattle next year but oh well. Yes, as an M's fan I'm bitter that A-Rod bolted for a quarter-BILLION dollars when he lied all along, that it was never about the money......

Should be interesting to see what names shake loose after the non-tendering on 12/20. Supposedly there could be another 100 free agents hit the market based on the latest projections, probably some real quality players too. Gotta love the hot stove league!

Detroit would be HIS team. Oakland won't. If the rumors of Vlad in Baltimore are true, B-More won't either. That and "stupid money" are very appealing.

my feeling would be that detroit would be interesting because before that signing (assuming it happens) and the vina signing, what is there good about detroit? They have some decent young pitching and carlos pena but if tejada signs, they've now got a pretty good infield AND decent young pitching, in a pitchers park. Then, they'd only need a good hitting outfielder and they've got some semblance of a team, and that, after almost being the worst team in history last year.

                        interesting.

Rumor I saw on ESPNews about an hour ago has Nomar headed to LA for some prospects then Tejada signing a 4 year deal with Boston, reasoning is Nomar will likely leave after this year, so they get some prospects and a SS who can produce like Nomar.
