    Re: Tejada Rumor

Rumor I saw on ESPNews about an hour ago has Nomar headed to LA for some prospects then Tejada signing a 4 year deal with Boston, reasoning is Nomar will likely leave after this year, so they get some prospects and a SS who can produce like Nomar.

The only reason Baltimore not being his team isn't true: Vlad is not a team leader. Tejada is outspoken, and it would take the pressure off of Vlad for Tejada to come in.

                  Re: Tejada Rumor

I read yesterday that he's going to sign by Sunday, and that the M's were the lead runners.

But, from what I've heard, the M's weren't offering him the kind of money he'd want, so I'm sure he'd go elsewhere if he got the offer.

Another thing I read about a week ago, was that the Tigers were willing to really overpay Tejada to get him into town. Dunno if that's a great idea, but I guess the Tigers need something.

I'm hoping he really, really wants to stay on the west coast so he comes to Seattle.

Yeah, the Tigers have to overpay for any free agents they want since this is most likely not their first choice to go to. So offering extra cash is the only leverage the Tigers can have in comparison to other teams with more attractive factors (better talent, warmer climate, lifestyle, etc.)
