Dodgers are the only team that could possibly pay that without batting an eyelash.

Just glad to have Cano out of the AL East.

No player is worth that much, not even Trout. And Cano is my favorite player, ughh seeing him change teams is gonna bother the hell out of me.

Cano, at 30 years old, wants a 10 year contract paying him $30 mil a year?
        Freakin nuts.

Most a team should give him is a 5 year contract, for MAYBE $100 million.

Yeah, $305 is just a negotiation ploy, after they settle on a final figure it'll only be $300 flat

Seriously though, I hope he doesn't get any where near that, these ridiculous 10 year contracts for 30 year olds need to stop

Crazy contracts have hurt other big name players? The contracts have hurt the teams that signed them, sure, but not the players themselves. Players ask for the world and usually get it because owners are dumb.

It was extremely surreal watching Jeter and Pettite walk to the mound to take Mo out last night. And watching Mo break down got me teary eyed as well.

Not sure if we'll see another like him and the game will surely miss Mariano Rivera

There's one in Arizona that happened in the same season that's never shown anymore, and I don't know how to find it either. All I know is the Giants were playing the Diamondbacks when it happened, and I found it worse than this one (as in, more traumatizing for the child). But again, don't know where to retrieve it since it's never shown.

Nice touch. Mo is nothing but class.

Read this morning the Yankees are considering playing him in center in the final game of the year.

You could make the argument that it tarnishes their legacy when they have a super huge contract and turn into a pumpkin. I mean when was the last time people really talked about Albert Pujols?

Pujols is still one of the best hitters I've ever seen and sustained elite production for an entire decade. If anything, people will be more upset that he switched teams in general than how much money he made in doing so. His legacy will be just fine by the time he hangs it up.

Man, it's crazy how streaky hitters can be. Case in point, Dominic Brown. Monster stint in May/June, and aside from that, has been average at best.

Outside of his monster HR May his walk rate seems to be consistent at least.

MLB schedule released. All dates are set, which makes me wonder about the wait inbetween rounds if both teams are finished earlier. EX-If ALCS and NLCS both end in 4 game sweeps(REAL unlikely but still...) both teams have a week off before World Series?

I want WS to go to 7 games though. Game 7 of WS on Halloween!
