I wish the Royals would do that. I know we're a small market, but our ratings skyrocketed this season with a competitive team, and we're getting pennies compared to other markets our size.

Paul Molitor has been added to Ron Gardenhire's staff in MInnesota. The way the job is described it sounds like they're grooming him to be the next manager there as he's going to be in charge of base running, bunting and infield instruction. He'll also have a say in in-game strategy.

I wish him luck as I know he used to work for the Twinkies as their batting coach for a season or two.

Dodgers fired bench coach Trey Hillman. Don't see anything about Mattingly.

Oh my bad. I will delete post. Just saw fire and Mattingly in the same sentence, and didn't read the whole context.

Yep, that's what I heard. Apparently Mattingly has said he wants his entire coaching staff back but as you said Hillman was fired and Mattingly wasn't even involved in the process. If he's still the manager come spring training than it's World Series or bust for him.

its going to get even uglier, Mattingly fired the first shot and the Ownership fired back in firing Hillman. I guess the ball is in Mattingly's court now.

I'm on the fence on Mattingly returning but I don't see another candidate who is better then Mattingly at this point, I'd like to see what rumors pop up.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Dodgers bring in a Manager familiar with the Latin style of play to help groom Puig and Guerrero.

Isn't Tim Wallach the manager in waiting? At least that's what i've heard whenever he's been interviewed for other managerial jobs that he'll take another job but his preference is to take over in LA.

Don Mattingly is not a very good manager. Dodgers would be throwing away another season if he's brought back. I just don't see them winning it all with him in charge there.

I hear Bobby Valentine is available if the Dodgers decide to go with someone other than Mattingly.

                    You're being facetious right?

They might as well hire Dusty Baker after all, he has Dodger ties what with being a former player for the team.

Yes. I wouldn't wish Bobby V. on any franchise. But still say Mattingly has to go.

Really not too excited about another inside hire. The organization needs to change its ways.

yes there is speculation that he is the front-runner but I dunno if keeping anybody from Mattingly's staff would be a good idea but then again he would be a familiar face for the players.

                          so who knows

I would be very surprised if Baker came back to the Dodgers, there was a lot of bad blood between the team and him when he left.

The rumor back then from what I remember was he was the one blamed for getting Steve Howe hooked on the nose candy.

and I was a huge Baker fan, when I was a kid, he gave me one of my first autographs when I was 7, still wish I had that autograph.

maybe the Dodgers will get desperate and pry Scioscia away from the Halos

Yup. From what I read today, a deal could happen within the next 30 days or so. The Phillies currently receive $35 million annually from Comcast Sportsnet. This new TV deal could get them potentially $135-185 million annually. Fox Sports may be involved too.

All I can say is that I hope this new TV deal brings us some new broadcasters. Tom McCarthy has got to go!

The 180 mil is actually a conservative number. Philly is the largest single team market by far so a 200+ million deal is more than likely. Comcast right now has exclusive negotiation rights but I wouldn't be surprised to see Fox handing the Phils under the table figures that they can threaten Comcast with. A good write up is here.

Unfortunately McCarthy is actually in employment by the team not the network so likely no new announcers. I miss Harry
