Just hoping for 3-3 this week. Anything more than that is a bonus.

Re: 6/3 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
Well, in the anticipation of hockey season ending, I'm starting to pay attention to the Twins/baseball.
Maybe getting back to .500? Yes, we've been against bad competition lately, but we're actually beating the bad competition. Unlike the last couple seasons. Progress.
I'm also a little surprised Kyle Gibson hasn't been called up yet. I figured with his innings limit, and how bad our pitching is, he'd be up by June 1.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: 6/3 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
It's official. Domonic Brown is the hottest player in the game right now. Just hit his NL leading 17th home run. A 2-run shot to give the Phillies a 5-2 lead over the Marlins. Dom Bombs dropping everywhere!Comment

Here's hoping the Blue Jays can actually win series, regardless who they face.
Jays have to be the most unbalanced team ever lol. Some years they have some of the best pitching staffs in the league(especially during Halladay days), but offense sucks, other years they have one of best offensive teams in the league(Bautista days), but pitching sucks.Comment

Is John Gibbons the worst manager the Blue Jays ever had, or have they had managers that are worse than him?Comment

Re: 6/3 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
Yeah.....
From a tactical point of view I think Jim Fregosi was worse but it's a toss up between those two and Jimy Williams (mostly for sabotaging what could've been an even better squad from '86-'89) for worst managers in Jays history.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Well this should scare you to know but Gibbons prior to being rehired had the 2nd best record of any Jays manager.
Yeah.....

And Gibbons didn't have the 2nd best record. I guess you forgot about Cito and Cox...Last edited by Redacted01; 06-04-2013, 02:05 PM.Comment

You picked guys with winning records? I'd say, given circumstances, a lot more was expected of Farrell. Buck wasn't all that impressive either. And of course Gibbons. I don't know why people thought this was a good move to begin with.

I put Williams high on my list for squandering the resources he had. He badly mismanaged the '87 stretch drive and his feud with George Bell in '88 more or less soured the entire team. He was a guy that also didn't earn much respect with the pitchers either.
As for Buck, I feel a bit bad putting him in the bottom 3 managers of the Blue Jays because I think he was a bit ill served by JP Ricciardi's handling of things. At the very least Buck and Mel Queen deserve some credit for salvaging Roy Halladay's career.
As for Fregosi? The guy was a bum and didn't have the best grasp of on field managing other than hoping for the 3 run HR.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
