Alex Cobb just took a line drive right to the head. That was just awful to see.

Something has to be done to stop that. They cant wear helmets but there has to be something better than what they have now.

I cannot believe how far the ball bounced back towards the plate. Horrible to watch.

EDIT: Looks like he was conscious the entire time. That's probably a good sign.

You can still get a nasty concussion even if you're conscious. Did they pull him from the game afterwards? MLB really needs a better policy regarding pitchers getting hit like that.

"crossing fingers" The Jays look like they're gonna win today. I think one can safely say this is the first sign of the team performing the way we thought they would entering the year.

He left on a stretcher I believe.

I'd like to see like a protective skullcap, so they wouldn't be incumbered by a large helmet but still have some sort of protection for their skull

Looks like Cobb is okay other than a minor concussion. Thank goodness, that was scary to watch.

Not majors but 55 you are going to love Wil Myers. Dude has been so clutch. Just hit his 14th HR of the season for the Durham Bulls.

It's good to see,and hopefully this is the turning point in season(since in past few years, when teams who made playoffs had turnarounds after struggling,it always came in June), but based on past Toronto sports history, won't be surprised if this wasn't a turning point.

23-0 when leading after 7 innings so far this year!

They have a HUGE stretch coming up that'll basically be the make or break of the season. Facing AL East teams in 10 straight games. Taking 7-8 of those 10 could very well push them into 4th or even 3rd in the AL East.

You can wish I guess. Losing, by the way.

As a Red Sox fan, I'm a concerned with this run by the Jays, but only a little. Now I certainly wouldn't mind if they passed the Yankees, which at this point seems possible, but if they start giving the Sox a hard time, that's not great. They play the Sox at key points for the rest of the season. The Red Sox also have a pretty tough schedule over the next few weeks. Day night DH Tuesday vs Rays, 1 game on Wednesday, then 4 at the Tigers. This stretch in which the Jays are playing ALE teams is the conclusion of one of the harder stretches the Sox have had this season.
